Floppy drive?

I have a new 2006 dell computer. The floppy drive has a casing on it. Can i remove the casing or does the computer not have a floppy drive at all? Thanks for your help in advance.

It probably has no floppy drive, it’s very common in these days. There is no reason why there was any “casing” in front of the drive if it was there.
